AngloThai, the debut restaurant from husband and wife team, John and Desiree Chantarasak, will open this autumn in partnership with MJMK Restaurants. Following on from a number of highly acclaimed pop ups and residencies, the pair will be bringing their unique take on Thai-British cuisine with a European focused wine list, to their first bricks and mortar site.

This year will see the launch of Fonda, an exciting, contemporary Mexican restaurant, years in the making from chef Santiago Lastra and MJMK Restaurants. Opening on Mayfair’s Heddon Street, Fonda will showcase regional Mexican cooking through Santiago’s unique lens, presented in an elegant, vibrant style, complemented by contemporary design.

In Mexico, a fonda is a family-owned eatery, serving traditional dishes in an informal setting, each inspired by personal recipes from the generations that came before. Santiago Lastra’s Fonda builds on this concept to showcase recipes from across the country. Though seemingly simple, Fonda’s dishes will draw on the quality and provenance of ingredients, combined with innovative techniques to elicit the flavours of Mexico in a modern way.

Fonda’s design is grounded in the warmth of rural Mexico and the vivid hues of its urban landscapes, conveying the colour, beauty and evolution of the country’s artistic heritage

KOL is the first restaurant from critically acclaimed Chef Patron Santiago Lastra. Championing seasonality, sustainability, and an appreciation for wild food, KOL’s menu overlays the techniques and heritage of Mexican cuisine with the landscape of Britain.

Since its mid-pandemic opening in 2020, KOL has been recognised internationally as one of London’s best restaurants, receiving accolades from the World’s 50 Best, Europe’s La Liste, the National Restaurant Awards and GQ. KOL was awarded one Michelin Star in 2022 and recently placed at number 17 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

The ground floor of KOL boasts one of London’s most impressive dining rooms. A spiral staircase leads downstairs to the KOL Mezcaleria and the Chef’s Table, a space inspired by the grand houses of Oaxaca, complete with its own private kitchen. The latter is available for groups and private events.

The KOL Mezcaleria is a special bar dedicated to the exploration of agave spirits. Cocktails are crafted with wild, seasonal ingredients sourced from the British Isles, and paired with Santiago’s interpretation of traditional Mexican street foods, or ‘antojitos’. The KOL Mezcaleria recently received recognition as the 54th Best Bar in the World.

Taking inspiration from Founder Marco’s Southern Portuguese upbringing, Casa do Frango celebrates Algarvian cuisine and culture, bringing the food, wine, and spirit of Southern Portugal to London. Described by Marina O’Loughlin as “quite simply, the best chicken and chips in town”, Casa do Frango’s humble menu of Portuguese small plates and signature Frango Piri-Piri appeals to guests of all ages.

MJMK launched Casa do Frango London Bridge in 2018, with our new flagship restaurant, Casa do Frango Mayfair opened on Heddon Street in central London in October 2022 and, our third restaurant Casa do Frango Victoria, which opened its doors in the summer of 2023. All restaurants are critically acclaimed for their Piri-Piri chicken, authentic Portuguese fare and welcoming, buzzy atmosphere.
