Kitchen Porter Candidate Requirements

  • Ability to wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils thoroughly.
  • Maintain clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment at all times.
  • A Kitchen Porter able to assist with basic food preparation when required.
  • Dispose of waste and manage recycling according to company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Organise and store deliveries in the correct areas.
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring dishes and kitchen areas are spotless.
  • Teamwork skills, ability to work well with chefs and other kitchen staff.
  • Time management, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality, consistent attendance and dependability.
  • Flexibility, willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
  • Communication skills, basic ability to follow instructions and communicate with the team.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (optional but advantageous).

About us

Our journey began in 2018 with the launch of Casa do Frango in London Bridge – a Portuguese grill concept inspired by Marco’s Portuguese heritage and fond memories of his upbringing in Southern Portugal. Offering a menu of fresh, wood charcoal-grilled dishes in a warm atmosphere, it quickly became a local favourite. Building on this success, we were fortunate to be able to expand Casa to the neighbourhoods of Mayfair (2022) and Victoria (2023).


We’re looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at Casa Mayfair who will embody our passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and help us continue to grow. The site welcomes around 1300 guest each week, a 125-cover dinning space, 100 cover event space/bar, two private dining room and a small terrace.

About MJMK Restaurants

MJMK Restaurants own and operate a collection of award-winning restaurants. Founded in 2018 by lifelong friends Jake Kasumov and Marco Mendes, our journey began with Casa do Frango. In 2020, we partnered with chef patron Santiago Lastra to open KOL, a fine dining restaurant in Marylebone celebrating Mexican cuisine with British ingredients. KOL has since earned a Michelin Star, named as one the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.


2024 saw the launch of two new ventures: Fonda, a contemporary Mexican concept in Mayfair—our second collaboration with Santiago Lastra—and AngloThai in Marylebone, the debut restaurant from husband-and-wife team John and Desiree Chantarasak, blending Thai flavours with British ingredients. Within three months of opening, AngloThai earned a Michelin star.


At the 2025 National Restaurant Awards, AngloThai was named 'The Square Opening of the Year' in the Top 100 list, followed by KOL. September, saw the opening of Luso, a contemporary Portuguese restaurant in Fitzrovia.
