Finance Assistant


MJMK Restaurants was founded in 2018 by Jake Kasumov and Marco Mendes. Following corporate careers, the duo chose to pursue their passion for food and drink.


MJMK Restaurants own and operate a collection of award-winning restaurants:

  • Casa do Frango (4 sites) - Portuguese grill concept with restaurants in London Bridge, Shoreditch, Heddon Street and Victoria.
  • KOL – fine dining Mexican restaurant located in Marylebone, with chef patron Santiago Lastra. KOL has a Michelin star and is listed as Nr 23 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants
  • Lisboeta – premium Portuguese-inspired restaurant by Nuno Mendes, in Fitzrovia


In 2024, we plan to open two more fine dining restaurants, with celebrity chefs and locations in Marylebone and Mayfair confirmed. We plan to open further Casa sites from 2025


As a company we seek to celebrate culture and heritage, great food and drink, and authentic atmospheres. As such, all of our restaurants are inspired either by Jake and Marco’s personal backgrounds or by those of the partners we work with. As we grow, we are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the support team.


Your responsibilities as Finance Assistant at MJMK Restaurants will be:


  • Process supplier invoices ensuring correct approval procedure is followed
  • Process weekly payment runs & other ad hoc payments
  • Develop and manage relationship with suppliers
  • Process supplier statements
  • Audit accounts payable operations to make sure invoices and receipts are properly coded
  • Ownership of relevant accounts email inboxes
  • Manage statements and reconciliations of company expense cards
  • Cost of sales reporting and reconciliation
  • Manage utilities & business rates trackers
  • Investigate any discrepancies arising from reconciliations
  • Assist Management Accountant with preparation of month end accounts
  • Ensure that company procedures are being followed at all times


In addition, the candidate would be required to perform the following duties to be able to cover cash control role if required:


  • Sales journals, bank & third-party statement uploads and reconciliations
  • Issue customer invoices and liaise with department heads re debt collection
  • Help with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process and control improvement and ad hoc projects
