MJMK Restaurants are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team as we continue to grow.


We own and operate a collection of award-winning restaurants:

  • Casa do Frango (4 sites) - Portuguese grill concept with restaurants in London Bridge, Shoreditch, Heddon Street and Victoria.
  • KOL – fine dining Mexican restaurant located in Marylebone, with chef patron Santiago Lastra. KOL has a Michelin star and is listed as Nr 23 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants
  • Lisboeta – premium Portuguese-inspired restaurant by Nuno Mendes, in Fitzrovia


This year, we're opening 2 exciting new concepts:

  • AngloThai – debut restaurant from the brilliant chef John Chantarasak, focusing on Thai recipes using British ingredients, in Marylebone
  • New modern Mexican concept from KOL Chef Patron, Santiago Lastra, in Mayfair


We're looking for an ambitious, motivated Payroll Manager to support our expansion. You'll have a solid background running payroll within hospitality, and be passionate about food, drink and restaurants. You'll be the key point of contact for all things payroll within the MJMK Group.


The role reports directly to the Finance Director, whilst also providing support to the People team.

  • The Payroll Manager will be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing; ensuring accuracy, compliance and that every employee gets paid correctly and on time
  • Ensure all payroll changes in salaries and tronc are kept up to date and the approval process for such changes is strictly adhered to
  • Provide payroll reports to Finance Manager as required
  • Reporting and analysis of payroll costs across the group
  • Ensure rotas are completed on a weekly basis and support sites to ensure they're closed on time
  • Reconcile monthly payroll to weekly rotas, with analysis behind variances
  • Report to the management team on payroll issues and changes
  • Reconcile tronc / ledger and produce monthly tronc reports
  • Prepare and maintain staff payroll advances tracker
  • Manage sponsorship of international staff, including sponsorship visa costs
  • Liaise with People and Operations teams regarding any ad hoc payroll changes and deductions
  • Audit and Reconciliation of all payroll accounts
  • Reconcile payroll and PAYE balance sheet accounts to payroll records monthly
  • Compliance Management - ensure statutory payments are processed correctly and we're compliant with all payroll tax regulations, ensuring you keep up-to-date on payroll and tax law changes
  • Assist with ONS surveys and HMRC queries
