Head Sommelier
Lisboeta - literally meaning ‘a person from Lisbon’ - celebrates the lifestyle, tradition, and emotion of belonging. The restaurant, located on Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, was opened by MJMK in partnership with celebrity chef Nuno Mendes in 2022 and has been proud to receive much critical acclaim since opening. More recently, Lisboeta has been listed in both the Michelin guide and the World’s 50 Best Discovery list. As the restaurant continues its success, we’re looking for a talented, passionate Head Sommelier to join the team, who will be responsible for leading the day to running of the wine service and supporting the front of house team.
Your responsibilities as Head Sommelier will include:
o Service for lunch, dinner and private events
o Inspiring, training and empowering the FOH team to pair and sell wine confidently
o Ownership and development of winelist
o Supplier management
o Wine ordering and cellar management
o Invoice approval
o Maintaining and sharing guest wine notes with reservation and reception team
o Being a focus for Lisboeta’s wine social media/promotional activities
You will deliver inspiring leadership; expert training; team empowerment and development of knowledge. You will be a great floor personality; energetic and engaging to our young team, confident with experienced wine consumers and HNW individuals
Key requirements for this role are a passion for best-in-class hospitality, generosity of spirit, a positive outlook, and love of all things restaurants and people.
You will need to demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail and an understanding of what it takes to run some of the best restaurants in London.
